Ex Man Utd and England star Rio Ferdinand has blasted Angel Di Maria over the Argentine's transfer to PSG after only a year at Old Trafford.
Speaking to ESPN, Ferdinand said "He will now always have on his CV that he was a failure at Man United. As a professional, I wouldn't want something like that on my record."
While Rio praised Di Maria's natural ability, the defender added "I'm quite disappointed that he is going so soon. I think that he is a fantastic footballer and he just didn't do it last season for whatever reason."
Di Maria has come under fire for jumping ship too soon after an uninspiring first season at Old Trafford. The 27 year old signed from Real Madrid in 2014 after playing 124 games for the Spanish giants. His £59.7m transfer fee placed high expectations on the winger, which unfortunately for both club and player, amounted to only three goals in 27 games.
His departure is good news for Ashley Young however, who will see his chances of making an impact in the first team increase with less competition for his position.
