Man Utd's mystery summer target has been revealed as Juventus' Spanish forward Fernando Llorente, according to the Daily Mirror.

LVG gave a cryptic answer in an interview during United's pre-season tour of the States this week, admitting that he'd identified a new transfer target up front, but refusing to name the player.

LVG hasn't been shy around his chequebook this summer, but with attacking players Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria and Robin Van Persie all gone or likely to go, the Dutchman knows he must spend big to replace them and keep United's title dreams alive.

The big man Llorente, nicknamed El Rey Leon, has scored 23 in 65 for Juve since singing from Bilbao in 2013, and would be an excellent choice up front for United, giving some brute strength alongside the quickness of new signing Depay.
