A key player for the newly resurgent Liverpool has been Lucas Leiva, who has been given the role of midfield enforcer by Jurgen Klopp.

Some stats from EA SPORTS Player Performance Index prove exactly how important Leiva has been this season. The Brazilian has made more tackles than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Not only has Lucas made more tackles than anyone else in the Premier League, but out of the top ten tacklers, only Southampton's Cedric Soares has a better tackles won ratio, at 97.3%

This feat is more remarkable for the fact that Lucas has made less appearances and played less minutes than anyone else in the top ten, meaning he wins more tackles per 90 minutes than any of the other players, winning an average of 6.4 tackles per game.
