Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers this week stepped up his interest in flamboyant Mexican shot-stopper Guillermo Ochoa, on news that Napoli were keen to take Pepe Reina to Naples on a more permanent basis. Ochoa impressed during Mexico's World Cup campaign, not only for his stunning mane of curly hair and the circulation of internet rumours that he has six fingers, but also for several fine examples of athleticism and reliability.
Whilst it would seem that Simon Mignolet will remain Liverpool's first-choice, Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen to give the Belgian some serious competition for his place in the Anfield nets, as Brad Jones simply hasn't cut the mustard on Merseyside. Ochoa is available on a free, after his contract at French Ligue 2 club Ajaccio expired this summer, leaving Liverpool at the front of a long line of clubs scrambling for the Mexican's signature.
