Nani To Arsenal: Is Wenger Trolling Us Or What?
Arsenal are finally building a squad that could allow them to challenge for the title again, and they've got the money to attract the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez now.
All of which makes their reported interest in Man United winger Nani pretty confusing. The Guardian are linking Arsenal with the Portuguese international, but didn't they see him play in the league last season? He was abysmal. No goals. No assists.
Arsene Wenger has performed some miracles in his time (remember how bad Alex Song was at first? He somehow became good enough for Barcelona to spend £20 million on), but this one might be pushing it.
Admittedly, YouTube compilations make him (and everyone else) look great, and Nani does clearly have talent, but it seems like he's been a work in progress forever. He's 27 now, hardly a youngster. He can score outrageous goals, but he's much more likely to send the ball flying into the stands.
He'd reportedly cost around £9 million, and would want wages of £110,00-per-week. You're so close to being very good again, Arsenal. Use that money elsewhere.
