With Liverpool sitting second in the table and Suarez hitting an astonishing run of form, a title push is being maintained for the first time since the Benitez era. However, with an ever-increasing injury list racking up, including captain Stevie G and Daniel Sturridge, Brendan Rodgers may have to invest in January to provide some much-needed back up to keep up with pace-setters Arsenal.
Ola Toivonen, PSV Eindhoven's striker who can also play in midfield has emerged as a primary target according to The Mirror. At 6'3' and with nearly a goal every other game for PSV during four years in Holland, Toivonen is also out of contract at the end of the season. Liverpool are looking to sign him on an initial six month loan with a view to a permanent move on a lucrative free transfer if the Swede impresses.
Let's face it, there's little chance of him ousting either Suarez or Sturridge from the starting XI long term but if Liverpool are serious about competing across the board, Toivonen could be just the useful squad player they need.
