Spurs have been dealt a transfer market blow as target Danny Ings has revealed he wants to join Liverpool when he leaves Burnley this summer, according to The Standard

Ings is a free agent next month, but Burnley will be owed a compensation fee due to a number of stipulations, including the player's age and refusal to sign a new contract.

Spurs reportedly put a bid in of £6m this week, but Ings, who is currently resting before the U21 European Championships, has made his intentions to join Liverpool clear.

Spurs are under pressure from fans to show ambition in the transfer market, but hounding players who have no intention of joining may be taking it a step too far.
