Les Cocker was a legendary figure at Elland Road where he served as coach under Don Revie between 1960 and 1974.
Cocker was also had an important role with the England national team. He coached with Alf Ramsey when the side won the World Cup in 1966 and would later become assistant manager to Revie during his spell as England boss.
Back in 1966 only a select few of the England camp received a World Cup winners’ medal but Cocker’s family fought a successful campaign which saw him awarded with a medal in 2009, some 30 years after his death.
His son Dave Cocker today used the said medal as he told Leeds owner Massimo Cellino what he though of him on Twitter. Two things to definitely be proud of for any Leeds fan.
