Reports this morning are suggesting that Liverpool have moved ahead of Tottenham in the race for West Brom striker Saido Berahino. Spurs were thought to be keen but the £25 million asking price is proving a huge stumbling block.

According to the Mail, Brendan Rogers will do his best to negotiate a lower fee for the 21-year-old, who is now Liverpool's top priority with a striker desperately needed.

Pochettino, on the other hand, has been left frustrated in his pursuit of  Southampton's Jay Rodriguez, but he could still try and make a move for the England international should Berahino opt for Liverpool over London.
