Surfing The Wild Antarctic Waters: Get Free Tickets To North Of The Sun Screening

This critically acclaimed surfing documentary is being shown in Finisterre’s first ever pop-up shop in London this Friday, and there are free tickets available. Get on it...

When Inge Wegge and Jørn Ranum walked into the wilds of a remote Arctic island, they took with them the bare essentials they needed to survive for nine months encamped in a deserted Norwegian bay – out of date food staples they foraged for free from a local store, their sense of humours and two items of utmost importance – their surfboards.

Their aim was simple, to endure the harshest that the winter snows could throw at them, surviving on what they could catch and forage. During their stay they build a cabin from driftwood, cleared the beach of decades of accumulated marine litter and surfed the frigid North Atlantic. The results of their trials and tribulations are recorded in a critically acclaimed film North of the Sun, a real ‘staycation’ epic on zero bucks at zero degrees!

The film premiered at this year’s London Surf / Film Festival, scooping the coveted Best Documentary and Viewers Choice awards and wowing the audience. The demand for tickets was so huge that cold water surf brand Finisterre and LS/FF have teamed up to offer another chance to catch the film at a special screening of North of the Sun held in Finisterre’s first ever pop-up shop, in the heart of the capital.

Tickets for North of the Sun on Friday 23rd November are free but numbers are extremely limited. To reserve your place, please call 01872 554 481. The pop up shop will run for 10 days only, from 21st November – 2nd December, at 21 Glasshouse Street, to celebrate the iconic cold water surf brand’s 10th year anniversary.
