Brendan Rodgers has been under severe pressure at Anfield since last season, after a poor campaign in which most of his signings failed to impress, they were hammered 6-1 by Stoke City in their heaviest defeat since 1963. 

A poor start to this season, including a 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham, and a 3-1 loss to bitter rivals Man United have ignited rumours regarding his future. Carlo Ancelotti has seen his odds slashed to 2/1 to be the next Liverpool manager, as the Daily Mail reports they have made contact with the Italian:

Ancelotti has won the Champions League 3 times, twice with AC Milan, and once with Real Madrid, as well as  Copa Del Rey, Premier League, FA Cup, Ligue 1, Coppa Italia and Serie A titles. Ancelotti admits he follows the Reds, "I've followed them since 1984 after facing Roma, when they won the European Cup on penalties.
