Goalkeeper Aaron McCarey tested positive for a "non performance enhancing" substance

In the news this week, Wolves 'keeper Aaron McCarey was handed a suspended four month ban for failing a drugs test. 

The ban relates to a charge the 23 year old Republic of Ireland U21 international picked up in April for testing positive for a "non performance enhancing" substance. 

The nature of the ban means McCarey is still free to play for the Championship side. 

McCarey said "I genuinely have no idea how the trace of the drug entered my system", but that he intends "to learn from this experience and improve myself both as a person and as a professional footballer."
