Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti would consider a return to the club if Mourinho is axed, but only on a full time contract, according to The Mirror.
Ancelotti steered Chelsea to a league and cup double win in his first season in charge, but was sacked by Abramovic the following season, something which is said to still haunt the Italian. It's understood he would consider a return despite this, but not as an emergency fill-in.
Sacking Mourinho is still considered a worst case scenario for Chelsea, but with a string of bad results and embarrassing situations for the Blues so far this season, Abramovic's patience will eventually run out if things don't turn around.
Carlo Ancelotti, 56, remains one of only two managers ever to win the European Cup three times, along with Bob Paisley. What do you think Chelsea fans? Was his legacy cut too short too soon? Would you like to see him back in the dugout?
