In form Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud, has confirmed to the media that Leicester City's Jamie Vardy "wants" to join Arsenal and that he hopes Vardy can "help us (Arsenal) win the title". This further solidifies the reports that a deal could be done within hours.
Giroud, who scored twice for France against Scotland last night, is apparently relishing the competition and went on to praise Arsenal's pride in having top strikers at the club. But whether he'll be so content if and when Vardy steals his place in the Arsenal side remains to be seen.
Vardy, 29, is expected to be a short-term solution for Arsenal as they look to cover the loss of Danny Welbeck, who will miss some of next season through injury. There is word the Gunners still want yet another forward this window.
The English media widely expects Vardy to complete a medical at Arsenal today and a deal could be announced later today or tomorrow.
