Despite six years of heroics in a Manchester United shirt, many will argue that the greatest performance from a Ronaldo at Old Trafford did not actually come from Cristiano. Instead, it is the original, il fenomeno, R9, Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima who comes out on top. His stunning hat-trick for Real Madrid at Old Trafford in the 2002/2003 Champions League quarter final has gone down as one of the greatest striker's performances of all time. So devastatingly impressive was "fat" Ronaldo that he was given a standing ovation from both United and Real fans when he was substituted off on 80 minutes. Despite their ongoing adoration for him, Manchester United fans will be hoping that Cristiano Ronaldo does turn not turn in a repeat performance when the two meet next year.
