Celtic have today been linked with a move for the Elche striker Jonathas and he seems pretty keen to join the club.

The 6ft 3” Brazilian has scored 12 goals in La Liga this season, during a loan spell from Italian club Pescara, attracting attention from across Europe. Celtic are one of the clubs interested and Jonathas had only good things to say about the Scottish champions.

“I know Celtic have sent their people to watch me this year. That is a big honour.

“I know all about Celtic, how big they are in Europe, how respected they are and about their fans.

“And they win their league, which means they are consistently qualifying for the Champions League.

“Any player will tell you the ultimate dream is to be playing against the best in the Champions League.

“For now, nothing is decided. We do not have many games left this season, so we need to finish strongly and end up in the best possible position.

“In the summer I can sit down with my agent and look at everything.”

It all sounds pretty positive for Celtic should they decide that Jonathas is the man to lead the line for them next season. Here’s the player in action.
