Manchester United have ramped up their interest in Bolton Wanderers wonderkid Zac Clough, according to the Daily Star.
United have been tracking Clough for a while, but now they seem ready to up the ante and strike a deal for one of the most promising prospects in English football.
The 20-year-old impressed last season with 6 goals in just 8 appearances. He would've featured more if it weren't for a dislocated shoulder that ended his season.
Despite constantly being compared to Lionel Messi by his teammates, Clough is determined to stay grounded.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, he said: "It was so surreal to hear myself being talked about on Match of the Day. To see my face on TV and have Gary Lineker praising me was just a bit mad.
"However, my family will keep me grounded. I like to think I have got both feet on the ground anyway and that's down to my dad especially. Besides, I am still living at home at the moment.
"So, my parents make me wash the pots every night! There's no special treatment for me."
