Celtic have their eyes on two left-backs, with the Daily Record claiming that they could pay £500, 000 to sign Barry Douglas from Lech Poznan, while The Sun reckons they will pip Feyenoord to the signing of Mitchell Dijks from Willem II.
Douglas will be a familiar name to Celtic fans, with the 25-year old Glasgow-born defender having played for Queen’s Park and Dundee United before making the switch to Poland.
He’s something of a set-piece specialist and is a threat in attacking situations, scoring a decent number of goals from full-back over the course of his career. Watch him in action below.
Mitchell Dijks will be less well-known to Celtic supporters but has a fine pedigree, having started his career at Ajax. After a successful loan spell at Heerenveen, the 22-year old signed for Willem II in 2014.
The Dutch U21 international is massive for a full-back, standing at an imposing 6ft 4” tall. Nevertheless he displays the sort of ease on the ball that you’d expect from a product of the Ajax academy, as this video of his freestyle skills demonstrates.
So which one would you rather see at Celtic Park next season?
