#PriceOfFootball: 1980 vs 2014
For as long as there’s been football, there’s been people complaining about the rising costs of football. In every stadium up and down the land, there’s always one old man who remembers paying 50p a ticket and 10p a pint, watching his team in the ‘glory days’ before foreign players and basic safety regulations.
These are the ‘CRAZY’ prices of the 1980/81 season. Oddly enough, the cheapest season ticket in all four divisions comes in Division One, where you could pay a measly £26 for a whole season of football. The team in question? Manchester City. Weird, that.
