We're hardly going to sit here and tell you we know the origins of life on earth - if we knew that we'd probably be kicking back with a cuppa tea acting pretty pleased with ourselves - but we can give you this graph via by the Independent, which shows the huge gap in faith between us Brits and our American cousins.
Maybe it'll give you a bit of perspective on world affairs right now.
Over half the Americans questioned believe God created the world, whereas Britons tend to believe life occurred on this planet as a matter of natural chance. The only theory less plausible to Brits than God is that an alien civilisation from elsewhere in the universe brought us here. Make of that what you will.
