As Paul Weller gears up for his run of gigs at The Royal Albert Hall from 24th to 28th May, his photographer Lawrence Watson has decided to whet your appetite by running an accompanying exhibition at the same venue.
Lawrence became Weller's regular snapper after he got the job capturing the recording of The Style Council's Confessions of a Pop Group album. Weller loved the results so much that he scrapped the original album artwork and used Lawrence's images instead. Lawrence went on to record the rise of Hip Hop in New York and Brit Pop in the UK, working with everyone from Morrissey to Oasis, Snoop-Dogg to Ian Brown. But still he's stuck by Weller, as both his tour photographer and producing some of the most famous and iconic album and magazine images. Images that really capture Weller's unique and influential style.
The exhibition will feature the best of Lawrence's work with Weller, with photos of everything from the Wild Wood recording sessions, to present day studio sessions and live gigs.
So jump on your Vespa and head down to the Royal Albert Hall on the dates below. You'll even stand a chance of winning a print singed by the Modfather himself. Now, where did I put my bowling shoes?
