11 Songs That Define Farr Festival

We asked Oscar Thornton, co-organiser of the 5000 person Farr, to name the tracks that most represent the people and vibe of his event. With Biggie, Gaiser and Daniel Avery in the mix, the choices were suitably eclectic...
Publish date:

1) Koreless - Sun

This track paints the Farr Festival picture perfectly. Sun drenched cornfields and euphoric moments.

2) Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy

JD Twitch closed Farr in 2012 with this track. The atmosphere was like nothing I've ever experienced - I guess you could say we have been trying to re-create this every year!"

3) Gaiser - Trunkated

This is one of those tracks which you just get lost in. The sound scape is ridiculous and it really reminds me of the night time at Farr. The forest comes alive at night and there is a real sense of wildness from every angle.

4) dBridge & Skeptical - Move Way

Two acts who are Farr regulars who keep pushing their scene forward. Farr would not be the same without DnB.

5) Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You

An oldie, but a goodie. Ejeca dropped his 303 edit last year and the place went off.”

6) Daniel Avery - Free Floating

Daniel Avery is - quite simply - a legend. 'Free Floating' is what festivals should always be about: minimal rules and roaming around to wherever takes your fancy.

7) Mount Kimbie -Carbonated Hotflush Recordings

One of my favourite tracks from their Crookes & Lovers album, we can’t wait to see these guys play the main stage this year.

8) Cajmere featuring Derrick Carter - Dreaming EP

“This never gets old and still sounds so fresh, two acts that I would love to see play the festival in the future.

9) The Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy

Bring on the summer, friends, BBQs and good times - a classic party track.

10) Dr. Dre- Still D.R.E. ft. Snoop Dogg

My ultimate driving tune. This is on the 'Drive to Farr' playlist

11) Underworld - Born Slippy

Saw these guys at Knebworth park for Renaissance in 2007 and this was the exact moment when I decided  that I wanted a career in festivals.

Farr is on 18th-20th July in Bygrave Woods, Hertfordshire.  Buy tickets for it here
