Hot Mix 5: New Tunes You Need This Week

Jessie Ware has got new material out, so has Sampha. It's already a beautiful week in music.
Publish date:

Isaiah Dreads - U See Me

Oh my gosh this kid's got SKILLS. At only 16 he's one of the new wave of grime MCs everybody's getting excited about at the mo. Preditah on the production. This is an absolute beast.

Floating Points - King Bromeliad

Been waiting for this to drop for weeks after hearing it on Gilles P's show. Floating Points has been consistently brilliant for however many years now, keeping Eglo Records on top of the game. The B-side is also phenomenal.

Darq E Freaker - Minger

Coming from South London Monsieur Freaker must be well familiar with mingers (JOKE!) Seriously though, this one is fiercer than a diamond encrusted dildo, and it's out on Jackmaster's Numbers label now. (Honestly, it was a joke).

Jessie Ware - Tough Love

Thank the Gods above, Jessie Ware has some new material out. It's been a long 2 years listening to her Devotion album on repeat, but it's just so fucking good. This new tune doesn't veer too far from the epic reverb-heavy formula on her first album, but if it ain't broke. Nice nod to Prince with the drum machine too.

SBTRKT ft Sampha - Temporary View

I truly believe Sampha's voice will be the one future generations hold in highest esteem when they look back at our current music scene. His work with SBTRKT has encompassed all that's been great about the digital bass age, nods to garage, a stripped back feel, and that unmistakable voice full of emotion. This is taken from his upcoming album. Definitely buy it.
