I remember the first GANT shirt I had, a mustard check number that I loved like a brother and was cruelly separated from when I lost most of the right arm at a particularly aggressive concert at the Astoria not long before it closed down. They've been knocking out understated quality for some time time now and despite this annoying Indian Summer that keeps rearing its head, I've been gearing up for Winter by poring over their knits. Here are five I fancy...

Tipped Shetland Cable Crew £140

While I'm not sure about the description of the colour as Zinfandel, I am sure that this 100% wool number by Michael Bastian is a beauty.

Cablecito Crew Neck £115

I'll probably go without food for this bobby dazzler of a crew neck in a mix of cotton, alpaca and wool. Saying that, at least it will fit. Also available in navy and sand melange.

Lambswool Multistripe crew £125

After a fairly sober start, this bad boy is perfect for teaming with some dark indigos, a plain button down and a pair of winter boots.

Lambswool Fairisle crew £135

Do you know what this jumper says to me? It says me, my dogs, a pint, a pub and a pork pie. One of my favourite sentences in the English language.

 Shetland Criss-Cross Crew £125

Designed as a homage to 90s one-hit wonders Kriss Kross, probably not, and I won't be wearing it backwards either.
