I like a nice coat, in fact, I never leave the house without one!
This month we have the Heritage Research Longline parka. I've mentioned these guys before, they do what they want with their collections. Taking inspiration from all sorts; each season has a theme - this current S/S collection is heavily influenced by Americana once more, notably servicemen returning home from WWII to re-assilimilate into society and finding new pasttimes such as surfing and Hot Rodding.
The Longline parka is what you could call their staple jacket. Available each season, each time slightly modified for the better. This two tone version is a website exclusive, released over two colour styles and limited to just forty pieces. For those who are really interested in their clobber, how and where it's made, then this is for them. Whilst I've seen industry 'politics' rubbish the whole heritage thing of the last few years as some sort of fad, I don't care about all that, nice clobber is nice clobber to me and that's what the good folks at Heritage Research do best, produce nice clobber.
Hand finished in England from British Millerain Dry Wax cotton it can only get better with wear. It comes in apple green and a light navy - two colours which you don't often see pitted together but really work well, and is lined with contrasting, locally sourced cambric cotton lining, with two large bellow pockets and a generous peaked drawstring hood. It's a really nice cut and fit, flattering even on my *ahem* powerful frame.
Available from their recently launched online store.
