Jermyn Street shirts by Emma Willis
I’d always coveted the shirt that Joe Pesci wears in Goodfellas, the one with the long pointed collar that betrays just a sliver of tie and collar points that creep down to a good two inches past one’s collar bone. But try as I might, I could not find one. And so I went bespoke.
‘We have our own range of designs or will make any shirt you might want,’ says Emma Willis, whose Jermyn Street shirt-makers came to my aid. ‘In fact the more unusual the better, as we love a challenge. As long as you have a picture, a good draw-ing or, even better, if you bring in a sample or an old shirt to copy.’
Music to my ears: not only does the lady produce an amazing shirt, she does so in the finest, crispest, most luxurious cotton known to man.
Bespoke Shirts start from £190.
