Award winning novel Life Of Pi is finally getting its big screen outing, with Ang Lee behind the camera. Judging from the first trailer, it's going to be nothing short of spectacular.

It's been over 10 years since Yann Martel's novel won the Man Booker Prize and adorned the bedside tables of every man, woman and child up and down the country, so it's safe to say that the adaptation has a lot to live up to. From the trailer one thing that's certain is that the film will be visually spectacular. The colours are symphonic, the CGI eerily realistic, that diving whale just astounding. It's another curve ball from Ang Lee too, whose cinematic output can range from the sublime (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Sense & Sensibility) to the ridiculous (Hulk, Hulk, Hulk). Hopefully, this will fall into the former category.

Life Of Pi is released in November.
