New to Common Projects is the use of perforated leather, used extensively across the new range. With CP’s revised Retros rolling out the styling studios only months after Adidas has revived the iconic Stan Smith’s, controversy has been caused over the originality of white-leather sneakers. Despite this, you cannot ignore the sheer beauty of these shoes, nor Common Projects hard work in making a functional yet classically designed, dare I say it, that looks better than the Stan Smith’s? If anything, it’s a smart move by Common Projects, going by the sales figures of Adidas’ Stan Smith’s in the traditional white-green colourway.
