Spurs Ready To Steal Unsettled Man United Striker

He's been, ahem, frozen out by Man United boss David Moyes - so could the Little Pea pop up at their fourth place rivals Spurs?

As Kermit the Frog once bemoaned so vociferously, it’s not easy being green - and no-one is more aware of that than Manchester United’s half-man half-bench, Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican net-rustler has been complaining about a lack of game time in the north west for some time now, and the spherical verde had another pop at his manager whilst on international duty this week.

Having started just one game of their last 10, the Little Pea has been getting all mushy, and told journalists how eager he was for the Mexico game as his side ‘don’t take me into account’. Poor pea.

But, according to The Guardian, salvation may be just around the corner, as new Spurs whip-cracker Tim Sherwood - keen to add some nutrition to his attack - has reportedly been weighing up a move for the forward.

Needless to say, the White Hart Lane side could certainly do with adding some firepower up top.

Record-signing Roberto Soldado has been looking a little toothless of late (or as the Spanish would say, he couldn’t hit a cow’s a**e with el banjo), and despite notching the winner against Cardiff last weekend, it’s not unrealistic that his boss might look to cut his losses on the £26 million goalie-botherer.

Soldado has been linked with a quick-fire move back to La Liga - and what good business it would be for the North London club if Sherwood could recoup the majority of that outlay, and snap (sorry) up Little Pea for around £15 million.

That’s not to say that Chicharito doesn’t have his fair share of suiters, though - and with Inter and Juventus also sniffing around the star, and United supposedly plotting a sizeable spending spree, it’s fair to assume that he might not start next season at the Theatre of Screams.

It could be assumed that Spurs’ success in that transfer wrangle will largely depend on their European status next season - and with Sherwood’s side currently gunning for the Champions League, they could well snatch that final qualification place from United.

With Emmanuel Adebayor firing his way back into favour following an extended absence, and enjoying a new lease of life - could Spurs look to recreate the classic big man / little man partnership not witnessed at the Lane since the heady days of Crouch and Defoe?
