Arsenal: Wenger Eyeing Move For Chelsea’s Belgian Star
His side needed penalties to scrape through an FA Cup semi-final clash with Championship Wigan Athletic on Saturday - and their toothlessness in front of goal is believed to have Arsene Wenger scouring the market in search of goals goals goals.
The Emirates Stadium side have been tracking Bayern Munich forward Mario Mandzukic, and hoped to bring the Croatian international, who has notched 17 Bundesliga goals this season, to London.
But the announcement by Sporting Director Matthias Sammer that the player is simply not for sale will see Wenger go back to the drawing board.
There is some good news for Gunners fans though - and that is, according to BR, the Frenchman has another couple of ideas up his ridiculous coat.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has been a revelation on Merseyside since his loan switch from Chelsea in the summer, and speculation is rife that he might fancy a change from blue to red at the end of the season.
But securing his coveted signature will not be easy. His 13 goals this campaign have alerted a host of Champions League clubs - something that Arsenal might not be in a couple of weeks time.
Everton could well be though - and that could be a real kicker for the ex-Anderlecht net tickler, who could yet be tempted to hang around in the north west for a little longer.
Either way, with Chelsea supposedly eyeing moves for everyone from Diego Costa, to Edinson Cavani, and Radamel Falcao, it looks increasingly likely that the player will be farmed out of the Bridge.
One thing’s for sure - with galloping French Y-front flaunter Olivier Giroud linked with a move back to Ligue 1, and rumours hotting up that the the Parisians have climbed inside their massive piggy bank to see if they can scrape together ’nuff millz to take him back across the Channel, Arsenal are desperately in need of fresh legs up top.
You know, to feed off those tasty Kim Kallstrom through balls.

Arsene Wenger will not go for Lukaku forget about it, these are stories that are being created by the media or people around. Wenger is waiting for the World cup to buy players.
Agreed. Arsenal won't buy Lukaku even if Chelsea would sell him to us. Which they won't. Mourinho doesn't rate Demba Ba at all, but the Special One would not loan him to the Gunners. The same will be true if Arsenal come in for Lukaku. Chelsea will demand 30 million and for that Arsenal can sign Mandzukic; a player with a much better track record and pedigree. I like Lukaku, but not for 30 million.
That last line... sarcasm?
