Mauricio Savarese started his career in 2003 covering sports in Sao Paulo. That took him to news agency Reuters right before the Athens Olympics. He moved to the politics desk and went back to sports to work at the Beijing Olympics. On his return he became editor-in-chief of FourFourTwo Brazil. Six months and a Lehman Brothers later, he went back to political reporting at UOL, Brazil's most popular news website. After spending eighteen months at the Brazilian Congress, he joined Yahoo to cover the London Olympics.
